A few adventurous Phelps County Democrats braved the tornado warnings and impending thunderstorms to gather with their fellow party members at CHEEX. Not surprisingly they took only a few minutes to nominate Barack Obama as their choice as the party's nominee for the presidential race. County Chair, Robert McCormick took care of some necessary party details, then they all adjourned and enjoyed the pizza, refreshments, and each other's company. One new democrat, Bob Ayers, was signed up as Phelps County's newest Democrat and received a well deserved round of applause.
